Errr... Sorry this movie ended up moving to the top and I don't want to reload it in order to move it.
On the 3rd and 4th day we traveled a few stops north on the railway to Kamakura. It was chalk full of temples and shrines and we really had a great time seeing all of the sites. This was the Hase Dera Temple which housed the Great Budha. The Budha is so large you can actually go inside it.

If you look further down you can see Doug explaining how to use this feature at the temple. It somehow cleanses you before you enter the grounds, every temple had one.
This is where you hang your bad luck. If you go through the ritual of getting a stick (see movie below) and you end up with bad luck you put it on one of these screens so the wind can carry it away.
Saki barrels. Every temple had a huge supply of this as well, who knew?
