North Park Mall

Chloe, Doug and Dylan watching the Puppet Show
Last year we had visited a local mall to see an awesome train display they put up for charity, see Santa and watch a puppet show. We liked it so much we went back.  This year we got to see the trains and the puppet show but unfortunately Santa only does his story in the mornings.  We did get to see him just not here him read "Twas the Night Before Christmas." We were lucky this year not only did Cindy, Dax and Zane meet us there but Dylan went with us as well.  It was a great afternoon.

Decorating for the Holidays

While I was off running a marathon Chloe, Doug, Nana and Nano put up a Christmas tree.  When you live in a small apartment and have a ton of guests coming the only place to put a tree is on the wall.  Doug and Nano created one on the wall while Nana and Chloe worked on some handcrafted ornaments.  I love the way it all looks.

For Chloe's 3rd Birthday we headed to Excite Gym.  She had been there once before and loved, loved, LOVED the trampolines.  Did I say the girl loves to bounce?  Well, she does.  She had around 10 friends and they all played hard for an hour.  They even got to play on the parachute which they all seemed to really like.

At Chloe's 3 year old check up she came in, in the 75th percentile for both height and weight.  It is hard to believe that she went from barely being on the chart when she was born to the 75th percentile.  She is really smart as well.  She surprises us everyday with new things she knows and can do.  One day she rattled off the planets from the sun on out and another the continents.  Her teacher said they were learning both in class but, both were shocking to me.  Her teacher also said Chloe is incredibly task oriented.  She likes to get her work and get it done.  She is just so dang sweet and wonderful.  I am pretty sure there is nothing better in the world than her laugh.  Oh and if you want to boogey down you should definitely come to our house, the kid loves to get her groove on.  I can't wait to see what the next year brings.

December 2010

A few movies and photos from December.

I love this photo of Chloe dancing.  She absolutely loves to dance.  She will pretty much dance anytime, anywhere, I love it.

During her Birthday weekend we also had a Christmas Party to attend at Ms. Stephanie's House (one of our previous neighbors).  Chloe looked so dang cute all dressed up for the party I had to share pictures.

After her Birthday Weekend we headed off to CT then VT  then CT.  I know, that sounds nuts but, what we did is fly into CT, drive up to VT and drop off Chloe with her Aunt Reyna, Uncle Dave, Bridget and Joe.  She had a great time.  While she was playing with the Aunt and cousins Doug and I went house shopping.  The great news here is that we found a house and should be moving in February if all goes well.  I had to include the following picture because it was so dang sweet.  Bridget and Joe took turns reading bedtime stories to Chloe.  They all get along so well it is awesome to see.  I am excited about Chloe getting to see her cousins more after we move.

Birthday Party at School

Chloe had a party at school this year.  Ms. Inaam (her teacher) asked that we make a poster with a picture from each of her birthdays on it.

Chloe holding her poster.

When we got to school I found out why she needed the poster.  Ms. Inaam got a candle to represent the sun and then put the months around it.  Chloe held a globe and circled the sun (candle) each time she came around to December they turned to the poster to see what she looked like that year.  It was a great ceremony.
Chloe holding the globe and Ms. Inaam giving her some kisses.

After the ceremony we had cupcakes.  Yummmmmm.

Casa Manana

Chloe, myself, her friends Emma and Alex and, their moms Allison and Daniela all piled into the Honda to head to Ft Worth for a great performance of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer at Casa Manana.   Chloe loved the performance and I was really proud of the way she behaved. The show was right up her alley with lots of singing and dancing.  Afterwards we had lunch with the crew and drove back.

Carrollton Christmas

Who knew Carrollton has a Christmas Festival?  They even make snow so the kids can sled.  We found out about the Festival because Chloe's Nana was on the ball and looked up things to do with her while she was in town.  Go Nana! We got to ride a Stage Coach, do some crafts, eat fun foods, and of course sled.

Chloe sledding down the snow hill.  Kind of cool and who would have thunk it.

Chloe getting her craft and a flower.
It took all three of us quite a bit of time to get her craft done.  It was complicated but, she loves it.

November 2010

I know I usually have tons of photos but, somehow I only had somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 pictures for the entire month of November.  Sorry.  This post will include a snapshot of the entire month :).

Chloe and Doug on the ferry.
We went to CT at the beginning of November to see if we could narrow down the towns we wanted to live in.  We did.  On our way back we took the ferry from CT to NY.

A picture taken by Chloe.  She loves to play with the camera.

The day after Thanksgiving Chloe and I drove Dylan back to Austin.  There we met up with Grandma Meg and Grandpa Art.  Dylan showed us all around the UT campus while we waited for Ryan to get off work.  It was a great day.  In this photo Grandpa Art is trying to get Chloe to do the Hook'em Horns sign with her fingers.

Trick or Treating

Before we headed out for some Trick or Treating we had to carve the pumpkins we had painted (we painted them a few weeks prior).  Doug and Chloe worked hard on the faces while I worked on making us roasted pumpkin seeds.

Chloe with her two friends Dax and Zane.  We actually went Trick or Treating in their neighborhood.

Chloe and Dax heading back to the adults after getting the goods.

Before we went Trick or Treating with the Behne Boys we went to our old neighborhood and Ms. Stephanie had a party in her front yard.  Chloe got a special treat, a cute doll that she still has in her bed.

Airshow

In October we took Chloe to her first Airshow.  She is quite fascinated with planes so we thought she might like to see them up close.  She loved looking in the planes and enjoyed a portion of the airshow but of course the highlight for her was...any guesses...yes a Bouncy House.  Apparently they set up Bouncy Houses at Airshows these days, who knew? She loved it.
Doug and Chloe were able to explore the inside of a FedEx jet.

Chloe and Doug checking out the engine.  She is always asking about the engines on planes.  Anyone supriised that she asked Santa for a rocket and an airplane as well as Buzz Lightyear.  BTW they all fly.

Halloween Race

With Chloe's new found love of racing we decided a family Halloween Race was in order.  Chloe ran a 1K and Doug and I ran the 5K pushing Chloe.  Since it was Halloween we all got to wear our costumes.  I think Chloe just may be the cutest Ladybug I have ever seen.  She got a ton of cheers.  Her course was quite hilly and Doug and I were both shocked at how hard she ran the uphills, she ran right on by two adults.

Family shot with medals.  We each won our age group.
